App of the Week – Plume for Twitter

This week’s App of the Week is Plume for Twitter. As the name might suggest, it is a Twitter client for both the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Tab 10.1. That means it will work on both Froyo/Gingerbread and Honeycomb.

With this app you can do everything you need to do on Twitter including checking your timeline, retweeting messages, and following the latest trends.

The application is completely customizable. You can change the colors, font sizes, notification settings and more.

You can download the ad supported version or the premium version ($2.87) from the Android Market.

If you need somebody to follow on Twitter, then why not follow us?

LTE Galaxy Tab 8.9 officially announced

We all thought that Samsung would announce the LTE Galaxy Tab 8.9 at IFA in a few days, but they decided to go ahead and announce it now. The announcement also included the affirmation of the 1.5 GHz processor inside of the Tab. It is not known if the 1.5 GHz processor will also be in the Wi-Fi only version of the Galaxy Tab 8.9. For some reason I doubt it will.

No other details are known at this time. Hopefully Samsung will announce price and availability at IFA.

European ban on Galaxy Tab 10.1 extended

Samsung had a chance to appeal to the German court on Thursday, but alas the injunction shall stay in affect until a final decision is made on September 9th. This is two days after Samsung’s IFA event where they will likely announce a new Galaxy Tab 7.7.

The court claims that there are “overarching similarities” between the two tablets. We can only hope that the ban will get lifted.

Galaxy Tab 7.7 caught on camera

The unannounced Galaxy Tab 7.7 has found its way onto camera today. You can clearly see that there are soft keys on the bottom just like the Galaxy Tab 7 before it. Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich only use keys on the screen so it looks like this model will have to run Gingerbread. It does not make any sense that this would happen since Android 3.2 is already out that brings support for 7 inch screens.

Another strange thing I noticed is that the screen is blurred out even though there is nothing on the screen.
