Galaxy Tab 8.9 vs Galaxy Tab 7.7

Galaxy Tab 8.9 vs Galaxy Tab 7.7

The Galaxy Tab 8.9 is coming out later this month according to Best Buy’s website, and the Galaxy Tab 7.7 is coming in the coming months according to Samsung. A lot of people missed the smaller form factor of the original Tab, so which of the these two is better?

Clearly the specs are better on the Galaxy Tab 7.7. The chart didn’t mention this, but the 7.7 has a Super AMOLED Plus display making the screen infinitely better than any other screen on the market.

You might opt for the Galaxy Tab 8.9 because it will be available later this month and the 7.7 does not have a release date. The price has not been announced for the 7.7 yet either, and it will likely cost more than the 8.9 because of the better specs in a smaller package. Either way, you can not go wrong.

      oops…. lol

Why highlight the battery for the 7.7? Doesn’t it mean it has a shorter period of usage? Additionally isn’t the 8.9 now 1.5Ghz or is that a specific version of the 8.9?

    • Kyle Dornblaser

Thanks for catching the battery issue. As for the 8.9, only the LTE model will be 1.5 GHz.

But it can be rooted to get maximum power right ? Because i don’t know which one i’ve got to buy.

        • Kyle Dornblaser

It can be overclocked if that is what you mean. My 10.1 is overclocked to 1.4 GHz currently so I imagine we will see the same for the 8.9.

          • Pierre-Marie Galite

Okay so i can take a Galaxy 8.9 instead of waiting for the 7.7 ? because i love the size, it looks like a book.

We do not even know when the 7.7 is coming out. The main advantage the 7.7 has (excluding portability) is the Super AMOLED Plus screen. I have heard that it is the most amazing screen people have ever seen because of of the Super AMOLED Plus technology and amazing pixel density.

The screen on the 7.7 uses a lot less power, so even though the battery is a bit weaker it will probably last longer.
