11.8-inch Galaxy Tab with above 1080p display revealed in court documents
Court documents have revealed that Samsung is planning an 11.8-inch Galaxy Tab referred to as P10. The display will have a resolution of 2560 x 1600. That is a good bit higher than the third generation iPad’s display resolution of 2048 x 1536. The P10 actually will have a lower pixel density due to the larger size coming in at 256 ppi vs the iPad’s 264 ppi. It will also have LTE connectivity.
We have heard rumors of an 11.6-inch Galaxy Tab with the same 2560 x 1600 resolution, but it appears that Samsung is looking to increase the size even further to 11.8 inches.
I wonder if Samsung’s research has found that there is a gap in the market for tablets that size, or if they are just unable to make that resolution on a 10.1 inch tablet for whatever reason. I hope we see the Galaxy Tab 11.8 soon, even if it is nearly 12-inches.
Maybe this will be something that we will see at Samsung’s Galaxy announcement on August 15th.
