GTA III has been out for Android since December 15th. What is this game? GTA III is the more commonly known name for Grand Theft Auto 3. This is a sandbox styled game (Open World, you can do what you want) and was originally introduced for Playstation 2 in 2001 by the game development company Rockstar. It is set in a fictional city called Liberty City (Based off of New York City).
It is the first game in the Grand Theft Auto series to be produced with the use of a 3D Game Engine. It has combined elements of Third-Person-Shooters and driving games.
Well, you’ve guessed it, OnLive is now on Android!
What is OnLive? OnLive is a gaming network, and allows you to play your favorite console and PC Games on your PC, TV, Mac, and now Android. What’s so special about this you ask? Well, it’s gaming on the cloud! Everything is stored on cloud servers. This means you don’t have to download a thing, saving all your precious space on your Tablet, and smartphones!
This network is very open. On a PC you can play with players that are on Android, Mac, or even the Console, all at once! You can play the tip top games, like Dirt 3, Lego Batman, A kingdom for Keflings, Darksiders, Split/Second, Fallout, Assassin’s Creed, L.A. Noire, and so much more as well!
My Country is a game that has been out for quite some time now. I originally started playing this on my iPod Touch 4g, but got kind of angry because of the small screen. I recently learned it was out on Android, and found it worked GREAT on my tablet!
My Country is one of those city-farming games, as I like to call it. There are a lot of city-farming/building games out there and this one seems to blow the other’s out of the arena.
The aim-of-the-game is to make a large, beautiful city (Or Country). Like any others though, you have to earn experience points, level up, and rack in a lot of that cash. You can do this by collecting rent from Residential places, Business, and several different Industries as well. This game reminds me more of a Sims City game than any other however, because you also have to build different power stations and keep your Ecology up to place certain buildings, and also, you can place buildings, roads, lakes/rivers, etc. anywhere on the map that is open.
The app we have showcased today is called ASTRO.
Astro is a file management application on the Android market, offered for un-rooted users, as well as rooted users. This application has a lot to offer! For a file management app, this is my favorite, because it also support Honeycomb 3.1!! It is an easily usable app with a beautiful interface.
Evernote is a cross platform note taking service that uses cloud saving to create digital notebooks, enabling students to access them anywhere. While the original Android app was impressive, the latest version of Evernote for tablets has blown everyone else away, with a smart new layout, and seamless text editing.
You guys voted on the poll and almost unanimously said you want the App of the Week feature to stay. I was surprised by the results. Now I need your help. Find apps for App of the Week is difficult. So if you have an app that you think should be featured, then share in the comments. Thanks!
Well this week the application is Titanium Backup. It is invaluable when it comes to backing up your apps and data, especially when installing new ROMs. And believe me, I have installed so many ROMs this past week.
