The verdict is in for the monumental Apple vs Samsung case. While Samsung lost overall having to pay $1.05 billion, the jury found that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 did not infringe on the iPad’s design patent (D504889). This is the rounded rectangle patent. The patent is still valid, but Samsung was not found to infringe it.
The products that were found to infringe patents were all smart phones and not the Galaxy Tab line.

I received an email yesterday informing me that the Wi-Fi Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus had received an Ice Cream Sandwich update a couple of days ago. After doing a little searching on the web, it appears to be true. The update is available OTA or via Kies. It will upgrade your Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus Wi-Fi only model to Android 4.0.4, which is miles ahead of the Honeycomb software previously installed.
Thanks for contacting me Kurt.
The Galaxy Note 2 (or Galaxy Note II if you prefer) has just been teased in a video for Samsung Mobile UNPACKED. Not much is seen of the phone besides extremely close shots of the S Pen being removed and in action. There is no way of telling if the leaked photos are indeed accurate from this video.
The first ten seconds of the video shows seemingly random video clips. My guess is they were filmed on the Galaxy Note 2. The whole video is a jumbled mess designed to not show much off, but watch the teaser if you are dying for a glimpse at the rumored 5.5-inch phone.
James Franco is an actor that is, perhaps, most known for his work in the Spider-Man trilogy. You can see a bunch of his other work on IMDb. Why am I talking about James Franco? Because he is in a new Samsung commercial for the Galaxy Note 10.1.
The commercial is more than a little bit ridiculous. It plays off Franco’s image of a man with man talents. Of course, a man who wears many hats needs a tablet with true multitasking! I hope one day to be as rich as James Franco, just so I can afford a toaster that launches toast several feet into the air.

The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Student Edition was rumored to be released and now we have an official press release from Samsung about it. The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Student Edition will only be available for a limited time, August 19th – September 1st.
This package deal comes with an 8 GB Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, keyboard dock, and USB adapter. The keyboard dock and USB adapter are valued at $100. The entire bundle costs $250, which is the price the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 normally sells for.
These are the most convincing photos of the Galaxy Note 2 yet. They do look a lot like the last image I posted. The main difference being the location of the sensors and front facing camera.
According to these photos, the Galaxy Note 2 will look a lot like the Galaxy S III with a thin bezel and large screen. The back of the Galaxy Note 2 appears to feature two speakers, a camera, flash, and the S Pen.
