Brief history

The Galaxy Note was announced at IFA 2011 in Berlin, Germany. It seemed comical to many with its 5.3 inch screen. The size makes it a hybrid device that works as a portable tablet and a smart phone.

It launched in Europe starting in October and East Asia and India by the end of November. Then it was released in Canada on February 14, 2012 and in America on February 19 2012. The North American versions is slightly handicapped by the 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S3 processor but has surreal data speeds with 4G LTE.

Reviews

“Contrast on this tabletphone’s display is simply incredible, with deep and menacing blacks juxtaposed against strong, vibrant colors. It’s frankly a struggle to express how delightful an experience it is to watch a movie or play a game on a screen like this.”

“With its huge screen and throwback stylus, the Samsung Galaxy Note is a polarizing smartphone that winks at tablet territory. Those who like their screens XL will find a top-notch device that lets multimedia shine. The S Pen adds some artistic potential, but for some, the phone will just simply be too big.”

“As somebody who is reluctant to hop on the tablet train, the Galaxy Note’s size is ideal to me. I like being able to whip the Note out to jot down ideas, and I love being able to doodle during a meeting or while riding the bus.”
