Galaxy Tab 10.1v kernel source code released

Samsung released the kernel source code for the newly released Galaxy Tab 10.1 a few weeks ago and everybody wondered where the love was for the Galaxy Tab 10.1v. Well Samsung did not want to play favorites and released the kernel source code for the 10.1v.

So what is the good of a source code? Two words – overclocked kernels. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 already has a 1.4 GHz overclocked kernel and now we can expect the same from its slightly older brother.

I know a lot of you really like the Galaxy Tab 10.1v, but Vodafone UK just announced that it will be phasing out the Galaxy Tab 10.1v in favor of the slimmer Galaxy Tab 10.1. From the day that the redesigned Galaxy Tab 10.1 was announced, it was known that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 would not be around for long. It looks like those days will soon be upon us.

Wallpaper Wednesday – Ecola State Park At Sunrise

Yesterday, the Galaxy Tab 10.1v went on say in Portugal. Since the resolution is different than the original Galaxy Tab’s resolution, it needs a specific wallpaper image for it. Starting today there will be two versions of the wallpaper every Wednesday. The actual image will be the same, just the dimensions will be changed.

This week’s wallpaper is from claytontullos and called Ecola State Park At Sunrise.

Browser Tests on the Galaxy Tab 10.1V Video

HDblog uploaded a video earlier this week demonstrating different browsers on the Galaxy Tab 10.1V that is available to some starting today. The video examines the speed and quality of the default Honeycomb browser, Dolphin Browser, and Opera Mobile. The results are consistent for the most part on the original Galaxy Tab, but the default browser has definitely started to catch up.
