The long awaited (or dreaded for some) TouchWiz UX update is coming to NYC on August 3rd. NYC was also the first to buy the Galaxy Tab 10.1. You have to literally go in to the Samsung Experience center in New York City to grab the update. They will manually sideload the update on to anybody’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 that wants it. The doors open to the public at 1:00 PM.
Samsung released the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Italy a few days ago and TouchWiz UX was already installed on the tablets. The US release is due out any day now. I for one and checking for System Updates daily.
There is a video walkthrough of an Italian Galaxy Tab 10.1 with TouchWiz UX after the break. It looks just as snappy as sock Honeycomb (some things look even faster!).

Earlier today, Samsung uploaded a walkthrough video onto their YouTube channel. It demonstrated, among other things, TouchWiz UX. The video shows us the same things we have seen and read about for months – Live Panel widgets, Mini Apps, and more. This is just further proof that the TouchWiz UX update is just around the corner.
Check out the video yourself after the break.
Samsung did not ship the Galaxy Tab 10.1 with their fancy new TouchWiz UX (TouchWiz 4.0), but that does not mean that they did not tweak the Honeycomb 3.1 operating system a bit.
The keyboard is the most obvious change. The reason for this is because it is white instead of black. It is much easier to see and type on.

As we all know the Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 will not be featuring a vanilla build of Android. Instead Samsung has incorporated its TouchWiz UX (TouchWiz 4.0) into Honeycomb. Samsung has always included TouchWiz on their devices, including the original Galaxy Tab which featured TouchWiz 3.0.
